DIY Dippped Strawberry and Rose Tower

I could not find many tutorials on how best to construct a strawberry and rose tower, and the ones I did find had the strawberries not at the correct angel. Ideally, the stawberries should be pointing upwards so that they seem to get a rosebud-like form.

  • 1 Styrofoam cone ((The one I used was 15″ tall)

  • 4 Pounds of strawberries

  • Candt Melts (desired color)

  • Toothpicks

  • Waxed paper

  • 2 dozen roses in 2 different colors

First you wash and dry the strawberries. Then melt 12 ounces of pink candy melt.

Once the chocolate has melted stick a toothpick in each dried strawberry and dipped in the chocolate. We let it dry on the Styrofoam base and plunged again. This step should be repeated three times to get the desired consistency.

In the end, just mount the tower itself. Place the strawberries and flowers on the sticks harmoniously so as to fill the empty spaces of the tower.

  • Pick roses which have tight buds. You should have the stawberry form and the rose shape to nearly be the same.

  • Rose heads which are bloomed or are too big can be made smaller by plucking off a number of the outer petals.

  • You may need to re-position a few of the toothpicks because you arrange berries onto the tower, If you must pull a toothpick out of the foam, hold the top of the tower down as you do this. The candy will surely maintain the cone stationary as you work, but it is not super glue.

  • The tower can be prepared one day ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator overnight.
