Baby showers are a time of celebration for that new bundle of joy that is about to enter the world. Baby will be getting plenty of attention soon enough, so I personally think the shower is a great way to pamper mom.
A few weeks ago, I had to throw a baby shower that was hosted by their generous parents.
During the planning stage, we really wanted to create something of our own to give to guests as a thank you for sharing the day with them. There are so many fun ideas out there for baby shower favors, but the one we settled on was chocolate covered Oreos. DIY Oreos are creative, easy to assemble, and a crowd favorite.
One package of Double Stuff Oreos
2 bags of White Candy Melts (or color of your choice)
24 Lollipop sticks Confetti sprinkles
Baby Blue Candy Melts (or color of your choice)
Carefully twist apart all of the Oreo cookies. Using one of the pop sticks, make an indentation in the white filling of each cookie.
Melt the Candy Melts in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Dip the end of one stick into the melted white chocolate.
Place the top of the cookie back on and allow white chocolate to harden (5 minutes or so), cementing the cookie back together with a stick inside.
Drizzle the melted colored candy across the cookie or sprinkle confetti whatever design you choose.
Place oreo cookies in the fridge to allow the candy to dry and to keep them cool until they are ready to be served.
